I am in the final stages of my PhD in the History and Theory of Psychology program at York University, and expect to graduate within the year. As of August 2011, I will be the Knowledge Translation and Implementation Coordinator at the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care.
I am interested in historical and theoretical perspectives on educational and forensic psychology. More specifically, in the history of early 20th century American mental testing, research methods in psychology, and deconstructing psychological narratives of gender, sexuality, and deviance.
My primary area of research is on the topic of genius, and my dissertation is tentatively titled "Redefining Genius: A Cultural-Historical Approach".
My side projects include evidence-based practices in forensic psychology, the history of the Genetic Studies of Genius project, the history of twin studies, and the use of equivalence statistics for research on gender.
