About

I am a PhD student in Social and Political Thought at York University.  My BA and MA are in economics.

My research interests are in the processes of political economic change.  I am conducting research on the advertising of the De Beers diamond cartel during the 1940s. The project is motivated by a theory of 'capital as power.'

The theory of my advisor and his writing partner are the main source of the concepts that I am using. I also draw on the philosophical work of Cornelius Castoriadis and Gilles Deleuze. The sociological work of Bruno Latour and Michel Callon are recent interests as is the business history of Thomas Cochran.
